Fayetteville Rooflines, Done Right
Fayetteville has a lot of older homes: craftsman bungalows with deep front porches and brick ranches, many of them on hillside lots under big, mature trees. Steep yards, porch roofs and low branches all shape where the lights can go and where a ladder can stand.
If you are comparing Christmas light installers, ask who will look at the slope before install day. We do it at the free estimate: we check the yard and the trees, measure the eaves, and decide with you how each gable and porch line gets lit. The plan goes on your written quote, run by run.
Christmas Light Installers Who Plan for the Slope
A plain list, so you know what you are paying for.
A design
Rooflines, peaks, porch and extras, planned with you, in your colors.
A written quote
The plan and the price on paper before install day.
Clip-on install
Clips on the gutter and shingle edge, nothing nailed in, and every run tested before we go.
Safe footing
Ladders set where the ground allows, which matters on a sloped yard.
Help mid-season
If a section quits before the holidays end, call and we will look at it.
Takedown after the holidays
Once the holidays are past, the crew returns and the lights come down.
Why Not Just Do It Yourself?
You can, and plenty of people do. But a porch roof, a steep yard and branches over the gutter add up to a lot of ladder moves in the cold, and a crooked line is hard to unsee once it is up.
Let a crew handle it and you keep both feet on the ground, the lines come out straight, and there is someone local to call if a section goes dark.
- Stay off the ladder and the porch roof
- Even spacing and crisp corners
- Tested before the crew leaves
- A local company that answers the phone

Seasonal Now, Permanent Later?
Seasonal lighting comes first: we hang the lights for the holidays, keep them shining until the season is over, then take them down, so the look can change every year. When you want something that stays, permanent lighting is our second option, a track fixed along the roofline for good. It is a bigger project with its own quote, written up at the same free estimate. Should it need a new outlet, that work belongs to a licensed electrician.

Estimate first, ladder last.
Free estimate
We visit, look at the rooflines and the ground under them, and measure.
Plan in writing
Colors, runs and price, all on one page before install day.
Install
Clips on, lights plugged in, every run checked with you.
What Moves the Price
There is no flat rate here and no per-foot number either. The house decides. These are the parts that count.
Feet of roofline
Front only, or the whole house.
Height
Second stories and porch roofs take more setup.
Slope of the yard
Uneven ground can change how and where the ladders go.
Colors and bulbs
Warm white, full color or a pattern, and the spacing.
Extras
Porch rails, shrubs, trees or a wreath, each on its own line.
Outlets
Where you can plug in. A new outlet is a licensed electrician's job.

The Crew Behind the Lights
Rooted Mechanical Heating & Air is an HVAC company from Elkins. Working up high and around rooflines is part of our everyday HVAC work, from attics to rooftop units.
We are licensed (#0006641) and insured as an HVAC contractor, and honest about the line we do not cross: we do not do electrical work. If the plan needs a new outlet, a licensed electrician handles it, and the estimate says so up front.
Fayetteville Holiday Lighting Questions
For older homes, sloped yards and everything in between.
Are there Christmas light installers who handle steep Fayetteville lots?
Yes, that is us. We check the slope at a free estimate and quote in person, then hang the lights, keep them going for the season and take them down when it ends.
Can you work around big trees?
Usually. Low limbs over the gutter change where a ladder goes and which runs make sense, so we look at them at the estimate. Lights on the trees themselves can go on the quote as their own line.
When do I need to book holiday lighting?
Fall is the time. Open install dates get scarce as December nears, so calling in October or early November gives you the most options.
Warm white or multicolor on a brick house?
Warm white glows against red brick and reads clean on painted trim. Multicolor is the classic, playful look. Cannot decide? Warm white on the roof, color on the shrubs.
Are LED lights worth it over incandescent?
For most people, yes. LEDs use much less power, run cool and keep their color through the season. Incandescent bulbs give a softer, old-school glow but draw more power.
I rent. Can I still get holiday lights?
Yes, with your landlord's OK. Clips attach to the gutters and the shingle edge, so the owner should know first. We give you the plan in writing to show them.
What about rain, ice or wind?
If the weather turns on install day, we reschedule. Slick gutters and a ladder are not a combination we take chances with.
Do the lights need special outlets?
They plug into the outdoor outlets you already have, often on a timer that turns them on at dusk. A new outlet is a licensed electrician's job, and we tell you at the estimate if your plan needs one.
Do you take the lights down?
Yes. Taking them down after the holidays is part of the job, steep yard and all.
What does holiday lighting cost in Fayetteville?
It depends on the house: roofline length, height, the slope of the yard, the look you want and any extras. The estimate is free and the quote is written.
Do you do permanent lighting?
Yes, as a second option to seasonal lights. Ask about permanent lighting at your free estimate, and we will write it up as its own quote so you can compare the two.
