Holiday Lights, Hung Right
Holiday lighting is the roofline job most people dread: the ladder, the cold hands, the box of tangled strands, and the one corner that never looks straight. We do that part.
Rooted Mechanical Heating & Air plans the look with you, measures every run, clips the lights along the gutters and shingle edge, and checks every section before we leave. Christmas light installation for one front roofline or the whole house, with the price in writing first.
What Is Included
Design, install and a season of lights. Here is what the job covers.
A design for your house
Which rooflines, peaks and extras get lights, and in what colors, decided with you.
A measured, written quote
Every run measured at the free estimate, then priced on paper.
A clean install
Clips on the gutter and the shingle edge. No nails in the trim and no sagging runs.
Tested before we leave
Every section is plugged in and checked while the crew is still there.
Help during the season
If a section goes dark before the holidays are over, call us and we will come look at it.
Takedown, too
We hang it, keep it lit all season, and take it down when the holidays are over.
Why Hire Out Holiday Lights
Safety comes first. Roofline work means ladders against cold, sometimes wet gutters, often at second-story height. That is the risky part of holiday lights, and it is the part we take off your hands.
Then the look and the time. Straight runs, even spacing and clean corners are what make a house read as finished from the street, and one install visit beats a lost weekend.
- Safety: you stay on the ground
- Looks: straight lines and crisp corners
- Time: your weekend stays yours
- Help: one local number all season

Seasonal Holiday Lights or Permanent Lighting?
Seasonal lighting is where we start: we hang it, keep it lit all season and take it down after, and the look can change next year. Permanent lighting is our second option, for people who want lights on the house all year: a track mounted along the roofline, quoted separately at the same free estimate. A licensed electrician handles any new outlet it needs.
Ask about permanent lightingHow It Works
Three steps, and the price comes before the ladder.
Free estimate
We visit, walk the house with you and measure the rooflines you want lit.
Design and quote
Pick the colors and the runs. You get the plan and the price in writing.
Install
Clips on, lights plugged in and every section checked before we leave.
What Affects the Price
You will not find a per-foot price or a price range on this page. We measure first, then write the number down. These are the things that move it.
Roofline length
The total feet of eave and gable you want lit.
Height and pitch
Second stories and steep roofs take more ladder work.
Peaks and corners
Each gable and dormer is a run of its own.
Colors and bulbs
Warm white, full color or a pattern, and the bulb spacing.
Add-ons
Wreaths, trees, shrubs and walkways, each on its own line.
Power
Where the outdoor outlets are. A new outlet is a job for a licensed electrician.

Pick Your Look
Warm white, full color, or something in between. Designed for your roofline.
Warm white is calm and classic, and it looks sharp on brick, stone and white siding. Full color is the nostalgic, kid-approved option. Patterns sit in between, like alternating colors, or a warm-white roofline with colored shrubs below it. We talk it through at the estimate, and the quote spells out what goes where.

Holiday Lighting Questions
Short, straight answers. Anything else, call 479-966-0099.
What does holiday lighting from Rooted Mechanical include?
A design for your house, a free estimate where we measure every run, a written quote, the install, and a check of every section before we leave. If a section goes dark during the season, call us. When the holidays are over, we take it all down.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. The holiday lighting estimate is free. We come out, measure, talk through the look and give you the price in writing.
When should I book holiday light installation?
In the fall. The closer it gets to December, the fewer install dates are open, so October and early November are the best time to call.
Christmas lights in warm white or color: which looks better?
It is your call. Warm white looks clean on brick, stone and white siding. Full color is the classic look. Plenty of houses mix the two.
LED or incandescent?
LED for most rooflines. LED bulbs draw a fraction of the power, stay cool and hold their color. Incandescent bulbs have a softer glow but run hot and use more electricity.
Can I light only part of my house?
Yes. The front roofline, the garage, one tree: the quote covers what you choose, and you can add more next year.
Do you work with HOA rules?
Yes. Bring your HOA rules to the estimate and the design will follow them, whether they cover dates, colors or placement.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We reschedule. Ice, rain and high wind make ladders unsafe, and a roofline can wait a day.
Where do the lights plug in, and can they be on a timer?
Into your existing outdoor outlets, and a plug-in timer can switch them on at dusk. If the plan needs a new outlet, that is a job for a licensed electrician. We are an HVAC company, and we say so at the estimate.
Do you take the lights down after the season?
Yes. We hang them, keep them lit through the holidays, and come back to take them down when the season is over. Takedown is part of the job.
What does holiday lighting cost?
It depends on the house: roofline length, height, peaks, colors and extras. We measure at a free estimate and write the price down. We do not publish a per-foot rate.
Do you install permanent outdoor lighting?
Yes, as a second option. Seasonal lighting comes first for us, but if you want lights that stay up year-round, ask about permanent lighting at your free estimate. It is quoted separately from the seasonal job.
Why does an HVAC company hang holiday lights?
Because our crew already spends its days on ladders, in attics and on rooftops. Careful work up high is the job either way, and you get a local company you can call back.
